Together Apart Mural
We’ve never lived in a time where we needed to be apart from one another. Coming out of lockdown, no one really knew how to get together safely. The Together Apart campaign saw local and international collaborations, all with the common goal of encouraging people to still connect with their loved ones, so long as they do so with the appropriate distance observed. Key collaborations included a Shepard Fairey mural which was localised by South African artist, Curious Lauren. The mural used 1 – 2 metre circles to encourage social distancing and lived at Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton for a month after SA’s hard lockdown. Musician J-Something and radio host Azania Mosaka led the awareness campaign for the launch activation. Outside of the city, original digital Out Of Home Illustrations drove awareness about the mural.
